When Mamba Strikes!

Kobe Bryant has looked like a man on a mission as the regular season comes to a close and he has every reason to do so. The Los Angeles Lakers are in a tight race with the Utah Jazz for the eighth and final spot in the Western Conference playoff picture. As of today, the Lakers(42-37) are 1 game ahead of the Jazz(41-38) for eighth place in the West. LA has been able to win two very important games in the last two days because of Kobe Bryant’s stellar play. On Tuesday, Kobe tallied 30 points, 6 assists, 6 rebounds and 5 steals, while leading the Lakers to a 104-96 win over the New Orleans Hornets. On Wednesday, Kobe feasted on the Portland Trailblazers by putting up 47 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists, 4 blocks and 3 steals.Kobe played the entire 48 minutes as LA defeated Portland 113-106!

Kobe has been playing so many minutes recently that you would think that he would be extremely fatigued. However, Kobe is not going to let up because he is desperately trying to get LA into the playoffs. Kobe’s 47-point performance was a season-high for the 34-year-old. Although he is an aging veteran, Bryant is extremely focused right now. “Black Mamba” is definitely a name fitting for Mr. Bryant because like the deadly snake, Kobe strikes with force and when he does, he can put his opponents in deep, deep, trouble! Black Mamba is determined to make the playoffs and he will not hesitate to bite any team that stands in his way.
