The big three that was once present in Oklahoma City Thunder was broken up just before the season started, but they are going to meet again in the playoffs. However, one of the three stars has made a second home in Houston and looks to guide the Rockets to a monumental upset over the Thunder. James Harden and the Rockets are a very dangerous team that can put points up in a hurry. The Thunder, led by Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook, are no strangers to scoring in bunches either. The Rockets averaged 106.0 points per game during the regular season(2nd in the NBA) and the Thunder averaged 105.7(3rd in the NBA). Harden and the Rockets will try their best to fend off the deadly combination of Durant and Westbrook and OKC will attempt to use their speed and athleticism to fight off the upset.

During the regular season, the Rockets and the Thunder played three high-scoring games, in which the Thunder took the season series by a count of 2-1. In the first two meetings, Oklahoma City thrashed Houston by scores of 120-98 and 124-94 and it seemed like the Rockets did not pose a threat to Oklahoma City because they were so familiar with Harden’s game. Thus, they were able to contain Harden but in the third game of the regular season, Harden and his crew of sharpshooters were out for revenge.  Harden A.K.A.”The Bearded One”, lit OKC up for 46 points and shot 7-8 from three-point land to give the Rockets a 122-119 win of vengeance over the Thunder. Houston will attempt to outgun Oklahoma City during the playoff series and there is no doubt that they can, but they must be consistent because the Thunder can hurt you in a big way if you don’t capitalize when given the opportunity!

The playoff series between the Thunder and Rockets is set to start on Sunday at 9:30(EST). James Harden, Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook used to run things together in the West but now Harden has risen to superstar status and wants to beat his former teammates. It is sort of like Durant & Westbrook(both 24 years old)are the older siblings of 23-year-old James Harden and the little brother is trying to prove that he can beat his older siblings! Of course these three stars will always be very close because of the success that they had while Harden was in OKC but they are going to compete for bragging rights and the chance to advance in the playoffs. Will James Harden’s silky smooth game lead the 8-seeded Rockets to an upset over the heavily favored Thunder? Is the lanky frame of Durant and athleticism of Westbrook too much to handle for the young Rockets squad? Only time will tell but one thing is for certain and that is the fact that NBA fans are going to see a ton of scoring and nonstop action in this series!
