See Red On The Road

The 2013 NBA Playoffs have been dominated by the home teams so far. The home teams are 9-1 during the first 10 games that have been played in the playoffs. However, the visiting Chicago Bulls would not let the Brooklyn Nets take advantage of them on Monday night. The Bulls stunned fans in Brooklyn’s Barclays Center by capturing a 90-82 victory over the Nets and tying the playoffs series at 1-1. Chicago’s traditional tough defense and gritty attitude was on display during last night’s contest.  The defense was anchored by defensive-specialist Joakim Noah, who tallied 11 points, 10 rebounds and came up with 2 great blocks. Noah is a native of Brooklyn and seemed very comfortable playing in his hometown, despite having plantar fasciitis issues. Carlos Boozer and Luol Deng both posted double-doubles in the win as well. Kirk Hinrich was terrific and managed to contain Deron Williams to just 8 points. Chicago held the Nets to 35% from the field and an abysmal 19% from the 3-pt line. The Bulls are without Derrick Rose but when they are locking up the opposing team, their defense makes up for the absence of their star. Chicago is one of the best defensive teams in the league and they hope that can earn them a trip to the next round of the playoffs.
